On Monday February 15th, 2021 YVC hosted a virtual event to discuss the importance of Environmental Justice to celebrate Oregon's Birthday being on the 14th. At this event our new co-leader Taylor Stageberg, YAB member Kate Voltz, and guest speaker Natalie Walter from Sunrise Corvallis took the time to discuss important principles, values, and events around environmental justice locally and globally. In this discussion they touched on topics like "Activism vs. Slackivism", the 17 Principles of Environmental Justice provided by YVCs own resource library, Schneider Electric's Ecological Footprint Calculator, and discussed Sunrise Corvallis' action towards the Corvallis Green Deal.
